Privacy Policy — Aera Driver

Your account details — your name, email address and phone number. Used to sign you in and to tell the office whose delivery is whose. You cannot change them in the app and neither can we on your behalf: your employer keeps them up to date, and the same goes for your password.

The runs assigned to you — the vehicle you are moving, its VIN, make, model and year, where you are collecting it, where it is going, and when it is due. Assigned to you by your office; the app reads it.

Photographs you take of a vehicle — at collection and again at drop-off. These are the proof of the delivery and of the vehicle’s condition at both ends. They are uploaded as you take them, stored against that vehicle, and kept as the record of the job. There is no signature and no paper note; these photographs are it.

Camera and photo library — used only when you choose to add a photograph of a vehicle. Nothing is captured in the background, and the app does not browse your library on its own.

Push notification token — an identifier issued by Apple or Google, plus the name your phone is set to, so we can tell you when your office puts you on a delivery. It identifies a device, not a person, and is deleted when you sign out or delete the app.

To hand a vehicle over you are shown the name and phone number of the person receiving it. That is someone else’s personal information, given to you for that delivery only. Do not use it for anything else, and do not pass it on.

• We do not collect your location. The app has no location permission and no code that asks for one. It cannot see where you are, and it does not track your route between the two ends of a run.
• We do not sell or rent your data.
• We do not use it for advertising, and there is no third-party ad or analytics tracking in the app.
• We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
• We do not show you, or collect from you, anything about money. What you are paid is between you and your employer, and this app never sees it.

Aera operations staff handling the vehicle; the delivery company that employs you, which assigns your runs and sees the work done under its account; and the customer whose vehicle it is, who is shown the collection and drop-off photographs as proof of delivery. Your phone number is visible to your employer and to Aera staff, and is not given to customers.

The photographs and the delivery record are kept as the record of work performed and as evidence of the vehicle’s condition when it was collected and when it was handed over. That evidence is what settles a later claim of damage, so it outlives the run and is retained as UAE record-keeping rules require.

Your login belongs to your employer, so ask your office to close it. You can also email us and we will act on it with them. There is no delete button in the app because there is no sign-up in the app: an account you did not create is not one the app lets you destroy.

When a login is closed we deactivate it so it can no longer be used on any device, and remove its push notification tokens. The delivery records and the photographs remain, for the reasons above.

Traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. Your sign-in token is held in the device keychain (iOS) or keystore (Android), not in ordinary app storage, and is namespaced to this app so it is never readable by the Aera Cargo customer app on the same handset. Links to photographs are signed and expire.

The app is for adults employed as drivers and is not directed at children.
